I don’t know about you but I have been feeling a little bit homesick. No, not the kind of
homesickness for being back “home” with your family. This runs much deeper than that. This
feeling is a longing for something that I just can’t quite put my finger on. It is a desire for
belonging and acceptance. It is a desire for finding other people- those “square peg in a round hole” kind of folks- who also experience a feeling similar to this. I am certain that there are those people out there. You may be one of them if you are reading this short article.
One of the primary reasons we decided to form Innovative Pathways is to help others find their
way “home” to a community of love and support- a community of unfinished people who are striving to become whole without all of the “right” answers or beliefs. It wasn’t created for people who have decided that they have it all together spiritually! They would disappointed when they have all of their nice and tidy answers to the big questions of life and spirituality questioned. Innovative Pathways is a community of people who may have once upon a time had all the answers but life and circumstances have broken those pat answers. Innovative Pathways is for people have tried to fit into religious communities only to experience the hollowness of a “cookie cutter” faith.
It gets pretty lonely when you don’t fit into the "traditional" mold. In fact, it can be sofrustrating that maybe you have reached the decision to give up. Maybe you have resigned yourself to 'go along to get along'. Maybe you walked away from those who have given you pat answers all of your life and now find yourself at a loss how to reboot your spiritual search again. If so, Innovative Pathways is a good starting point for you!
In this community, it is not about finding the right answers or holding the correct beliefs. None of us claime to be perfect or 'have it all together'. Innovative Pathways is about discovering the personal spiritual resources you need to embrace your life’s purpose and make your journey in this world the very best that it can be. We are not here to judge your particular path or to supply you with all of the right answers. We are here to challenge one another and to grow personally as a community to become Spiritual Heroes.
You know what a hero is, right? It is a person who is just tired enough, hungry enough and
frustrated enough to do something about their current circumstances. They do this to make a
difference for themselves and those around them. It isn’t all about courage (though this journey does require it). It’s not about bravery (though being brave enough to explore yourself and what the Universe has to offer is indeed a brave action!)
I want to invite you to join this broken, frustrated, courageous and brave community of spiritual
exploration as we journey together toward where our pathways may lead. As Tolkien reminded
us, “Not all who wander are lost.” So it is at Innovative Pathways. We wander together toward a
place we have never been and, in reality, don’t know for certain exists. But we need to go there.
It is the only way we can satisfy that desire for home in our spirit. Along the way, we will share
joy, sorrow and grace as we travel together.
